EXPERIENCED AND CREDENTIALED FACULTY
The Chastain School at St. John recognizes that our faculty is the heart and soul of our program. Our teachers provide children with positive guidance in a loving and nurturing environment every day.
We search for teachers who have a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field and those with a Child Development Associates degree (CDA). We also place very high value on experience with young children, passion and a loving and kind heart.
To ensure that we have the best possible teachers our team undergoes an extensive interview process with our management team and owners. Each teacher receives a Satisfactory Records Check Determination and has had three personal and professional references checked before they are hired. The School invests 18 hours per teacher of continuing education in early childhood each year and requires that they be certified in CPR and first aid. Everyone receives training in disease and injury prevention and in the detection and reporting of abuse and neglect in their first year of employment.
The enthusiasm, knowledge and the passion of our teachers can be witnessed daily through their interactions with the children. Many of them have been with the School for longer than 5 years and some have been with us since its inception. We are always available to parents for questions about the welfare, development and education of their child(ren).
