OUR MANAGEMENT TEAM
The management team has a deep commitment to quality early childhood development and education and our combined experience working in this field is over 62 years. We are very proud of the program and confident in the teaching team and staff that we have assembled. Our Director has 20 years of experience in the childcare field and has been a teacher, educational coordinator, assistant director and director.
Our leadership has been with this program for 17 years combined. They have experience not only in the classrooms as teachers but with managing and mentoring teachers. Their knowledge of curriculums for infants, toddlers and preschoolers is a significant advantage to our teachers, parents and most importantly our children.
“Early Childhood Education is our passion and profession and we love it!”
Ms. Dana Ginger
Dana has over 20 years of experience in the early childhood education field and is a graduate of Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.
With 10 years of experience in the classroom and 10 years of experience in management Dana knows how to lead teachers and manage the day to day operation of our school. For 8 of the last 9 years, Dana was the Director of Turner Second Generation, a center specifically dedicated to the early educational needs of the employees at Turner Broadcasting. Her most recent experience was as the Director of a startup, FIO360, in Atlantic Station.
Dana joined our team in January of 2009 and is dedicated to the growth of our programs and the continued success of the school. She is responsible for leading all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the school and supporting her team. She believes that recruiting and supporting a strong team of dedicated teachers is the cornerstone of the school’s success. Her support allows the teacher to provide exceptional experiences and environments for children and families. Dana’s strong commitment to customer service, passion for the value of low ratios and her desire to expand each child’s experiences beyond their four walls, will continue to take The Chastain School to levels outside the reach of other programs in the area.
Ms. Tracey Starwood
Director of Administration
Tracey graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and has over 10 years of administrative experience. Tracey joined our team in August of 2009 and is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the School as well as assists in the daily operation. She is usually the first person you see when you walk in the door or the first voice you here when you call the school.
Tracey grew up in Flint, Michigan before joining the U.S. Army where she served 2 years in Frankfort, Germany working in the Protocol office of General Colin Powell and a year stateside stationed at Ft. Meade Maryland. After being honorably discharged, she moved to Miami, Florida where she lived for 6 years before moving to Marietta, GA in 1995.
Tracey co-owned a personal training studio named Results Fitness Center located in Smyrna for five years from 2004 –2009. Before coming to The Chastain School, she also worked part-time as a substitute teacher throughout the Cobb County school district. Tracey has spent many years volunteering as Team Mom and Treasurer for her sons’ basketball teams and with the Youth Outreach Program at her church.
I am a native of Long Island, NY, but I grew up in Miami, Fl where at 14, I had my first experience teaching as an Assistant Art Teacher. From there I went on to earn a degree in Business, which changed to Early Childhood Education. I have 3 children of my own and love to see the influence I have on children and how I’m preparing them for life in the Pre-k and Elementary School.
Over the past 20 years, I’ve worked with children in many areas and ages. I conduct a class that introduces the children to different countries and provides a variety of activities along with the school’s monthly themes. I also oversee our Technology Room, where our preschoolers explore and learn on IPad.
I am also a part of our Administration Staff. This position allows me to help teachers and be more involved with the parents.
Mrs. Brenda Cook-Fambrough
I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. I have over 20 years of childcare experience. I have also worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant for 5 years. In addition to working as a teacher at The Chastain School for the past 8 years, I also worked at Peachtree Presbyterian Church on Sundays in the Children’s Ministry Department for 13 years. At TCS, I am commonly referred to as ‘Bible Brenda” by the children and staff because I also teach our Bible classes.
I have two beautiful daughters, ages 21 and 16 years old. I earned my Early Child Development Specialist degree in 2010 from Southern Crescent Technical College.
I truly believe that my mission from God is to LOVE, EDUCATE, AND PREPARE children for the world.
